After graduating from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Law, Lale Kaplan became a Consultant Lawyer and Second Legal Counselor at Turkish Airlines. She then changed departments within the company to the Commercial Assistant to the General Manager and worked as the regional manager responsible from the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Bahrain and Sri Lanka between 2003 and 2007.
Following her return to Turkey, she became the Head of International Relations and Alliances at Turkish Airlines and was responsible for THY's participation in the Star Alliance and the conclusion of many international agreements. After her retirement from Turkish Airlines in 2009, she worked as the Chief Legal Counsel of Sabiha Gökçen Airport and left this position in 2014 and started to work as a freelancer. She specializes in Air Law, Commercial Law, Contracts Law and Labor Law.
She teaches Aviation Law and Introduction to Labor Law at Özyeğin University on a part-time basis and actively works as a trainer for IATA (International Air Transportation Association) on Air Law, Contract Law and Aviation. She is a Consultant at AeroHelp Institute. She is also a member of the Istanbul Bar Association Space and Aviation Commission and Logistics and Transportation Commission. She is a member of Soroptimist Turkey Pendik Club, an international non-governmental organization, and takes active roles for the benefit of underprivileged girls and for the empowerment of women.
